MOUNT MIGUEL HIGH SCHOOL PTSAWelcomes you back! Why Should I Get Involved? Because of your children and your community. As a PTSA member, you are more likely to be a more informed and involved parent. These are important times for parents to learn ways to keep children safe, trouble-free and involved in school. PTSA is the place to gain that knowledge. PTSA provides parents the opportunities to meet and talk to the Principal and other parents who have the same worries. Through sharing common concerns, you will feel empowered to do the tough job of parenting and you will not be alone. PTA offers a great opportunity for parental support and makes school involvement easier. We hope you had a relaxing summer, and you are ready to be a part of a great year of learning and fun! The Mount Miguel High School PTSA is an active group of parents, students, administrators, and staff members working together to help make Mount Miguel High School the best high school in the district. Mount Miguel students and their families are encouraged to join Mount Miguel PTSA. Parent involvement doesn’t have to end at the high school level. It just gets more fun! We welcome your participation and there is no obligation. We meet monthly in Conference room A. Meeting notices are posted on the Mount Miguel website calendar at http://www.guhsd.net If you would like to join us and participate in any project, we would love to hear from you. You may drop us a note via the front office or email us. We have included an overview of programs that Mount Miguel PTSA supports. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you soon. PTSA Programs at Mount Miguel – The following are brief descriptions of programs Mount Miguel High School PTSA has adopted for the 2008-2009 school year: MEMBERSHIP DRIVE: Our first membership drive begins August 21 for the 2008 –2009 school year and will continue throughout the school year. A PTSA membership is $10.00 for regular membership and $50.00 for our Gold membership celebrating our schools 50th anniversary. There are several ways to join PTSA. You can join when you complete the registration form that is included in the school newsletter. Also, you can join through the finance office or at Back to school night. GRAD NIGHT: For graduating seniors, PTSA supports the annual trip to Disneyland. Graduating seniors have the opportunity to travel to Disneyland for a Disney “all-nighter”. Information for this trip will be available in the Guidance office next spring. SCHOLARSHIPS: PTSA will sponsor a senior scholarship for the 2008-2009 class. The information for applying will be available in the Guidance office next spring. PTSA also supports: Teacher Appreciation, Shining Matadors, Parent Institute, and other school functions. You can help support the Mount Miguel PTSA by using E- Scrip at your local merchants and community rewards program. We encourage you to register at your local retail store or on line. |
