Testing Schedule
Sophomores/Juniors:The P.S.A.T./N.M.S.Q.T. (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) will be administered on October 17, 2007. Sophomores planning to attend college should take this test. More detailed information will be provided in early October. Juniors planning to attend a four-year college or university (immediately after graduation) are encouraged to take the college entrance exams in the spring of their junior year (see below). Juniors/Seniors: If you are planning to attend the University of California (e.g. U.C.S.D.), you must take the SAT I or the ACT. In addition, you must also take three SAT II tests, which must include:
If you are planning to attend the California State University System (e.g. San Diego State University), you must take the SAT I or ACT. The SAT II tests are not required. Applications for all these tests can be obtained in the Counseling Office. Fees for all of these tests are mailed with the Test Registration packet (application). Following are the test dates for the SAT I and SAT II, followed by the (regular) deadlines for registration:
Advanced Placement Exams will be given in May 2008. Golden State Exams will be given in January 2008 and May 2008. Listen to the bulletin or speak with your teacher for specific testing information on both tests. Seniors applying for admission for the fall term to either the University of California or the California University System, must complete admission testing by December of their Senior Year. STAR is the Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) program, which includes the California Standards Tests (CST) and the California Achievement Test (CAT6). Test dates will begin in April. |
