A brand new 3-4 year college prep program to jump start your career in health and medicine

The Academy of Medical and Health Sciences was created in response to the increasing demand for nurses and healthcare professionals. This is a new program supported by the Grossmont Union High School District Health Advisory Board to prepare students for the rigor and the skills necessary to become a healthcare professional.

By joining the Academy of Medical and Health Sciences, you will have the following privileges:


  • Professional healthcare mentors
  • Field trips to hospitals, clinics, and research institutions
  • Use of medical equipment
  • The opportunity to participate in the Summer Institute training through Sharp Grossmont Hospital and Kaiser Permanente with other students in the Grossmont District.
  • Community service based research projects
  • Guest speakers from the healthcare field
  • The chance to know and work with 70 peers who are also pursuing a career in the health field
